The Orion Academy is an academic school specifically designed for students grades eight through twelve, whose academic success is compromised by neurocognitive disabilities such as Asperger’s Syndrome and Non-Verbal Learning Disorder (NLD). Prior to the development of a modification and social skill training programs, such as Orion Academy provides, the future of this student population had been uncertain. Within existing high school programs, children with Asperger’s and NLD suffer profound difficulty with information processing, and social interaction. This, coupled with significant executive functioning deficits, often make it possible for them to function and succeed.
We are pleased to be part of the helping these children discover their true potential.
